East Brunswick scored the go ahead run in the fifth inning off an RBI ground rule double hit by Dan Bell. Connor Paglia hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth for his second RBI of the game. Doug Fischer and Anthony Galuchie each had three hits for the East Brunswick. Ben Penn, the pitcher for East Brunswick, only gave up 8 hits in a complete game outing. East Brunswick will face number 1 seed Spotswood on Saturday. East Brunswick is now 6-10 for the season.

May 7, 2007 - Old Bridge 14, East Brunswick 3


East Brunswick got off to a good start, scoring two in the first and one in the second to get a 3-1 lead. Old Bridge scored 1 in the third to close the gap to 3-2. In the fourth inning Old Bridge shelled East Brunswick with 7 runs which was followed by 5 runs in the fifth. Anthony Galuchie hit three singles for East Brunswick. East Brunswick is now 5-10 for the season.

May 4, 2007 - St. Joseph 10, East Brunswick 6


East Brunswick fell behind quickly, giving up two runs in the first, another in the second and two more in the third. The Bears then launched a come-back attempt, scoring three runs in the fourth inning. St. Joseph continued to score and thus put the game away. Prevete doubled for East Brunswick. East Brunswick is now 5-8 for the season.

May 3, 2007 - South Brunswick 5, East Brunswick 3 (9)


East Brunswick nearly pulled off a second upset victory over South Brunswick in a two day period. East Brunswick scored three runs in the third inning powered by RBI singles from Matt Shaffrey and Corey Hersch. South Brunswick scored one run each in the third, fourth and seventh innings. South Brunswick scored two in the ninth when John Haas scored Dan Acevedo with a double. Aaron Wey hit a double for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 5-7 for the season.

May 2, 2007 - East Brunswick 2, South Brunswick 0


East Brunswick stunned the top ranked South Brunswick Vikings in a Greater Middlesex Conference matchup. Aaron Wey pitched five innings and struck out two while giving up just four walks and three hits. Dan Bell had an RBI double for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 5-6 for the season.

April 30, 2007 - J.P. Stevens 10, East Brunswick 2


J.P. Stevens scored nine runs in the third inning, including a three-run homer by Connor Medler. Corey Hersch had a double for East Brunswick. East Brunswick is now 4-6 for the season.

April 26, 2007 - Piscataway 8, East Brunswick 7


East Brunswick nearly pulled off an upset victory over Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division rival Piscataway, but Rob Meyer hit a sacrifice fly for Piscataway in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap off a come from behind victory for Piscataway. Piscataway had started with the lead with a fist inning run, but East Brunswick drove in four runs in the fifth and added three three more in the sixth. At the top of the seventh, East Brunswick had a 7-2 advantage, but were not able to pull out the victory. Doug Fischer had a double for East Brunswick. East Brunswick is now 4-5 for the season.

April 25, 2007 - East Brunswick 7, St. Joseph 6


East Brunswick pulled off an impressive upset victory for their third straight win against rival St. Joseph on a rainy day in East Brunswick. The Bears scored first with a three run third inning. St. Joseph got one back in the top of the fourth and in the fifth inning they added another to make the score 3-2. East Brunswick added two runs in the fifth. St. Joseph scored another run in the sixth, but when the Bears came up their bats were flying and they extended their lead to 7-3. The final run coming on a squeeze bunt by Doug Fischer. This turned out to be the winning run since St. Joseph rallied in the 7th inning, scoring 3 runs and stranding the tying run at second. Ben Penn pitched the whole game for East Brunswick. Doug Fischer, Anthony Galuchie and Chris Santiago each had three hits. East Brunswick is now 4-4 for the season. ...For More Pictures

April 24, 2007 - East Brunswick 4, Woodbridge 3


For the second day in a row, East Brunswick was victorious over Woodbridge. Winning pitcher Aaron Wey pitched 6 1/2 innings and struck out 5. The winning run came on a sacrifice fly by Chris Santiago who scored Doug Fischer. East Brunswick is now 3-4 for the season.

April 23, 2007 - East Brunswick 5, Woodbridge 2


East Brunswick scored in the second inning and again in the fifth. In the sixth inning, the added 3 more to put the game away despite 2 runs scored by Woodbridge in the sixth. East Brunswick scored off RBI singles from Nick Fisher, Anthony Galuchie and Aaron Wey. Daniel Bell struck out 9 in six innings for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 2-4 for the season.

April 21, 2007 - Spotswood 6, East Brunswick 0


East Brunswick lost the Milltown Post 25 Commander's Cup for the first time in the three years they have contested it. Spotswood pitcher Willie Beard struck out 10 in a 1 hitter. East Brunswick is now 1-4 for the season.

April 20, 2007 - Old Bridge 14, East Brunswick 0


East Brunswick couldn't touch Old Bridge's pitcher Nick Ballinger who threw a no-hitter and struck out five batters. Old Bridge right fielder hit a three run homer in the fourth inning to bust the game wide open. East Brunswick is now 1-3 for the season.

April 19, 2007 - Edison 3, East Brunswick 2


East Brunswick came up a little short after Edison scored three runs in the third inning. East Brunswick tried to make a comeback in the 7th, but they were stopped at two runs. Corey Hersch had a double for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 1-2 for the season.

April 11, 2007 - East Brunswick 10, J.P. Stevens 6


Things did not look good for East Brunswick much of the game, with J.P. Stevens jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning. East Brunswick exploded for 8 runs in the sixth inning to erase a 6-2 deficit. Anthony Galuchie and Doug Fischer had singles that drove in two runs to fuel the big rally. Anthony Galuchie also pitched the final two innings in relief to earn the win. East Brunswick is now 1-1 for the season.

April 9, 2006 - Piscataway 8, East Brunswick 3


East Brunswick started off well, scoring in the first inning and carried the 1-0 lead into the fourth inning in which Piscataway tied up the game. In the following inning, Piscataway added another run, but it was in the sixth that things went seriously wrong for the Bears. Piscataway began the big inning by scoring off an RBI double by Joe Naccarato and completed the damage with a two run homer by Russell Hopkins. The Bears scored two in the final inning, but it was too little, too late. East Brunswick is now 0-1 for the season.
